Next Stop: Seoul

Posted in [Volleyball] By Angie Akers

I have to admit, I was very sad to leave Rome.  In the short 2 weeks that I was there, I fell in love with the city.

The tournament was held at a beautiful location just north of the downtown area at the Stadio Olympico.  We stayed at the dorms in the training center.

We were disappointed in our result, a 9th place finish, but like everything in life, you must learn from every situation and experience.  We hope to make better on that result in Korea.

Yesterday was our travel day.  We arrived in the afternoon and fought off the jet-lag by walking around a mall for a few hours and then eating a good dinner before hopping in bed and watching an episode of Glee.

The event starts on Thursday.  We are excited to play here!  Fingers are crossed that the weather will clear up.  So far it has been cold and rainy.  Not the summer beach weather we were hoping for, but oh well!

Tomorrow is another training day for us.  We will watch the qualifier and get in a good sweat.  We should be adjusted to the time change by then.  That's all for now!

More later!

Angie
